Accelerating Clinical Research Ecosystem in Indonesia: Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) Signing between Equilab International and School of Pharmacy, Institut Teknologi Bandung

On May 25, 2026, Equilab International and the School of Pharmacy Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), marking a strategic milestone in their shared commitment to advancing research, education, and clinical research capabilities in Indonesia. This collaboration reflects a strong partnership between academic institution and the contract research organization to drive scientific excellence and create meaningful impact for public health and healthcare industry. As the first initiative under this partnership, a joint project is scheduled to commence in June 2026.
In his remarks, Prof. apt. Diky Mudhakir, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D., – Dean of the School of Pharmacy ITB, highlighted the institution’s extensive expertise and strong human resources, which position ITB as a valuable partner for industry collaboration. "ITB aspires to be a leading institution and provide a real impact for the healthcare industry and society through meaningful collaboration, scientific excellence, and innovation", he stated. Professor Diky also expressed his confidence that the collaboration between ITB and Equilab will continue to grow into a strong and productive long-term partnership.
Representing Equilab International, President Director Ronal Simanjuntak, S.Si., Apt., M.M., emphasized that this partnership extends far beyond research projects. "This collaboration creates opportunities not only for research projects, but also for educational programs such as internships, lectures, seminars, and symposiums in the fields of clinical research and laboratory testing, supporting the advancement of international standards and strengthening the foundation for a more integrated and globally competitive clinical research ecosystem", he stated. Mr. Ronal Simanjuntak also highlighted ITB’s potential to participate in broader international research collaborations together with Equilab. Over the years, Equilab has established partnerships with many academic institutions from Australia, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, South Africa, the Netherlands, New Zealand, and other countries. The collaboration with ITB further expands opportunities for Indonesian researchers and academics to engage in globally connected research initiatives.

Beyond pharmaceuticals and clinical research, Equilab and ITB also identified great potentials in the cosmetics sector, particularly in preclinical research and testing services that comply with international standards.
Through the synergy collaboration of academic institution and the contract research organization, Equilab is confident that Indonesia can further strengthen its position as a competitive hub for clinical research, bioequivalence studies, and healthcare innovation within the region.
