CRM TRIAL CONNECT 2025: Accelerating Asia in Global Clinical Trial

Equilab recently participated in the CRM Trial Connect 2025 event, held on May 8-9 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This prestigious conference brought together key stakeholders from the pharmaceutical industry, medical professionals, Contract Research Organizations (CROs), regulatory bodies, and trial participants to share their expertise and vision for enhancing clinical trials and access to innovative treatments in Asia.

During the event, Equilab had the opportunity to engage with many esteemed figures, including the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who delivered a keynote address and met Dr. Akhmal Yusof – CEO of Clinical Research Malaysia.

The Indonesian delegation was represented by notable speakers: Indri Rooslamiati, Apt. – Head of BB Binomika at the Indonesia Clinical Research Center (INA-CRC), and Atti Ratnawiati, Apt., M.Epid. – Head of the Clinical Trials and Investigational New Drugs Team at BPOM (Indonesian FDA). They shared valuable insights into Indonesia's clinical trial landscape and regulatory updates, highlighting the country's growing prominence in the region's clinical research ecosystem.
In her presentation, Mrs. Indri highlighted Indonesia's extensive healthcare infrastructure, noting, "Indonesia has over 3,400 hospitals, and we have mapped clinical site capabilities across the country. Currently, we are developing site capabilities and streamlining clinical trial regulations to expedite the regulatory startup process."

Ms. Atti also delivered a speech on BPOM's regulatory updates, stating, "BPOM is working towards becoming a WHO-listed authority. We are improving our regulations and processes to become a more reliable regulatory authority for clinical trials."
Equilab's participation in CRM Trial Connect 2025 reinforced its commitment to advancing the field of clinical research and fostering collaborations in Asian countries. The event provided a valuable platform for Equilab to connect with industry leaders, professionals, stakeholders, and our existing partners to further solidifying the collaboration in doing clinical research in Indonesia and other Asian countries.
